![]() ![]() Lots of judgement calls between 2 answers with stuff like risk factors. Hardly any surgery which is definitely my weak point. I didn't have a single "military" question where being in the military had anything to do with answering the questions, it was just irrelevant info mentioned in the stems. I had a lot of preventative medicine on mine and luckily I'm on family med now so it wasn't bad. I feel like I had at least 5-6 questions that were repeats from the 120s or uwsa (literally 3 questions on my first block were either in the 120s or similar to uw!). FREE 120 CORRELATION FREEI would definitely do both free 120s close to the test. I finished uworld over a month ago so I was kind of scared about not having the material fresh in my head, but I honestly feel that more studying wouldn't have helped me. ![]() I took UWSA2 the next day and got the same score so I signed up for the exam 2 days out and then did both free 120s the next 2 days leading up to my test. I decided to take UWSA1 last Saturday and was happy with my score. I was originally planning on testing in September but landed a few big time rotations in the upcoming months so I decided to just get it over with. Just took the beast yesterday, I thought it was a fair exam. I really just want a 250 so as not to drop from my step 1 score. My schedule has been all sorts of messed up due to make-up third year rotations due to covid, so I was also considering moving my test back to a few months from now if UWSA1 didn't go well. Gonna be taking UWSA2 and the new free 120 a week from now. Is a 250+ attainable? I only have a little under 2 weeks until my exam. Should I assume the NBME's underpredict or the UWSA1 score overpredicted for me? I had the original pre-dedicated goal of 255+ however after doing pretty poorly on the NBMEs I adjusted my expectations to 245+. UW second pass (currently halfway through): 81%ħ/26 EDIT: UWSA2: 265 + New Free 120: 75% (taken on same day)- will edit this post with my final score. I'm having a hard time understanding the discrepancy between my NBME practice test scores and UWSA1 taken today: Oh, and heads up, I had about five or six MVA/trauma next step questions that I was completely unprepared for. Idk, guess that the way they separate the 226ers (me) from the 260ers. Felt like I was using random info that I had picked up somewhere along the line during 3rd year. Meanwhile, on the actual exam I felt like I was drawing on none of the IM material I had accumulated during dedicated. The exam is suppose to be 50-60% IM, right? So I focused a lot on IM. What's the next step?" and then three of the five the answers choices all sounded good. He has no nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or past medical history. "Five year old male comes to your office with fever, rhinorrhea and headache. Some questions were literally three sentences long. Especially " You could have given me another year to study for this and there is no way in hell would I be able to prepare for a good chunk of that test since the questions are just so whack." Who knows what other whack questions they can add when they expand on the social science section -_-Ĭannot agree with this statement more. In all honesty given the way this test is headed, I would try and take it before September. The rest of the questions like ethics, quality improvement, biostats, step 1 questions, and wtf step 2 questions are just luck of the draw. The only thing you can do is study the contents of UWorld so you can get as many of similarly related questions right as possible on the real test. I feel like Step 2 has definitely changed compared to the past and has gotten harder. All of my friends who are now in residency have always told me Step 2 was easier than Step 1. I've seen people outperform, underperform, or score nearly the same as UWorld 1/2. Counted about 20 wrong right off the bat. You could have given me another year to study for this and there is no way in hell would I be able to prepare for a good chunk of that test since the questions are just so whack. Time wasn't an issue not because it was easy, but because some of the questions are so BS that there is literally no point in sitting there and think on them. ![]()
